Romans 10:17 “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message is heard through the word about Christ.” NIV
Faith is something we hear. When the word of God is preached, spoken, taught, or read, the spiritual intention of it is transferred to the hearer. We do have to remain open to hearing the intent of the word and discerning the meaning based on our relationship with God. “My sheep know my voice” John 10:27. Just as a child knows their parent’s voice of care or authority, we know the voice of God and His nature when we are in submission to Him.
